Fishing

Papua New Guinea’s isolated blue water fishing grounds are teeming with fish and it’s untouched rivers offer some of the best lure fishing in the world.

The island provinces of Madang, East and West New Britain, New Ireland, Bougainville, the waters off Port Moresby, the Gulf and around Milne Bay abound in Marlin, Saltfish, Dog Tooth Tuna, Giant Trevally, Mahi Mahi, Spanish Mackeral and more!

In dense jungle rivers of New Britain the elusive but prized Papua New Guinea Black Bass, will challenge any enthusiastic angler.

Another remarkable fish is the Niugini Tiger Fish which thrives in rivers of the Gulf, especially the Fly and Kikori rivers.

Barramundi, Mangrove Jacks, Saratoga, Spot Tail Bass, Saw Fish, Jungle Perch and Tarpon are some of the other amazing fish you can expect on your Papua New Guinea freshwater fishing adventure.
